The Circus A dieing artform,that has been in the uk for years It was a british cavelary man called sergeant major philip astly who began circuses, The word circus is latin for circle,and he had came up with a ring,to enhance his abilty to stand on a cantering horse, The equestrian shows grew,and were added with acts like clowns,jugglers,aerial acts and exoctic animals were introduced,this began the modern circus Familys such as PAULOS, ROBERTS and FOSSETTS,have been around for decades,and still bring family circus to local towns a , Robert Brothers Circus In 1944 Bobby snr,and Tommy Snr,started Otto Brothers Madras Express and Tropical Circus in Falkirk,but was soon changed to that of Robert Brothers' Mammoth Zoo-Circus later that year. In 1955 the show hit the headlines as a lion trained was killed by one of his beloved lions,and then 2 decades on another lion killed a small boy,when escaping from its cage Bobby Jnr,took over the elephant herd in 1961 from his father and became a worldwide name He married his wife miora in 1965 The Roberts family had a show that big that it could not travel any more so split into two shows Bobby took the Robert Brothers Super circus title untill 1992,and then under his watchful eye,bobby jnr took on the name Bobby Roberts Super Circus from 1993 Even Today Bobby Roberts Super Circus,is still blossoming,With daughter Kitty and son Bobby the show still tours the uk,with help from kittys husband Stephen and bobbys wife gillian who are all vital parts of the circus. Even today bobby is still trianing animals,his beloved Arabian stallians still amaze people !! Bobbys son also called bobby,is main clown,(bobo) and is becoming a loveable clown who willnever give in,untill the audience are in stiches laughing, For 2008 bobby roberts circus has a familiar troupe but with new music and costumes it is still going strong and still manages to entertain thousands each year
